Cat the Story Teller (Kiriusha’s Lullaby)

This piece can be associated with the imagery from Alexander Pushkin’s intro to his fairy poem Ruslan and Ludmila, where the magical Cat the Story Teller walks on the golden chain on an oak tree. The main theme (the pan flute’s ostinato) was once improvised by Alla’s younger son Kirill when he was 5 or 6 years old. Years later Alla turned it into a piece. Pan flute, strings, muted trumpet, harp, kalimbell, percussion, drums, electronic sweep  //  Length 3:44, 69 bpm, 4/4

Epilogue

This piece has a retrospective feel to it. It is an emotional composition with a feeling of old and, maybe, not always pleasant memories, but with a calm and wise conclusion in the end… It can also picture a rainy day, a slow process, or a long period of time. It could work very well for final titles of a documentary or film.  2 versions possible: piano with strings and piano solo. Possible loop with a clean cut. Contact me if you need the loop. – Length 2:03, 60 bpm, 4/4
